City To Shut Down Astor Place Newsstand Guy

Jerry Delekas has had his newsstand at Astor Place and Lafayette Street for the past 24 years. Now he’s asking you to Like his Facebook page to help him keep his business. Here’s the back story from Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York….

“Jerry Delakas, the newsstand guy of Astor Place, has launched a Facebook fan page. A sign on his stand asks you to “Please ‘Like’ Jerry’s Newsstand on the facebook” and help him keep his business, which the city is trying to take away from him.”
